Voice of the Customer

Feedback
The restaurant has many foreign guests, perhaps because of its convenient location near the station. In addition to the curry, I find the Chai here delicious and find myself going often. Despite its humble exterior, the interior is a solid Indian restaurant.

I stopped by for lunch. I had wanted to have authentic curry and to try this restaurant for a long time. All the staff seem to be Indian or Pakistani. Naan and Saffron rice are authentic. There are various curries and you can choose the spiciness. It tastes good!

Stopped here on my way home from a nearby outlet mall. On the website, I was drawn to the Bengali fish curry and venison dishes, but they weren’t available for lunch. I decided to order the Gotemba special lunch (1,250 yen plus tax) of which only 10 are made per day. I didn’t butter the naan. I ordered hot chai (200 yen plus tax). Chicken biryani is stir-fried with fried onion. There is also cassia and cardamom. The naan is chewy, not sweet, and delicious. The mutton curry has lots of onion. The chai was a bit weak for me.

The Indian restaurant is about a 3 minute walk from Gotemba station. There were a total of 3 Indians working in the restaurant: 2 in the kitchen and 1 in the hall. Looking at the dinner menu, the prices seemed a bit high for this area. I chose two curries, among many, that come with the “Bengali dinner set.” The first was an onion-based mutton curry, which was well cooked-through, and I found it very good. The other was the “Bengali white fish curry.” The curry contained eggplant, okra, and a white fish meat. I thought it was delicious, too. The set dinner comes also with naan, saffron rice, tandoori chicken and shrimp.
